Take on the Area
The Ouray/Ridgway Market continues to surprise.

Seemingly unaffected by national trends, stock market volatility or interest rates, I feel quality of life is the underlying cause of this continued growth. Our buyers seem to be people who could live anywhere in the country, but choose our area for the small town feel, minimal crime rate, great schools, scenic beauty, excellent weather and a vast array of outdoor activities.

Imagine being within 4 1/2 hours of National Parks, Lake Powell, world class skiing and jeeping, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, biking/cycling, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, ice climbing, hot spring pools and all in an area that's located in the shadows of 13 and 14 thousand foot mountain peaks yet only 40 miles to the desert and affords 285 to 300 days of sunshine a year.

The county is approximately 1/3 National Forest or BLM lands and has a great number of large ranches who seem to be non-developers, coupled with a strict land use code which includes screening and visual impact regulations, the area appears to be allowing but controlling growth significantly.

The mid to long term outlook is much the same controlled growth continued beauty and a great place for active retirees or families to raise kids.
